Youth Development Aide

We are recruiting for multiple positions in our Youth Development Recreation & Childcare Program. The idea candidate will possess a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children and teens K-12.

Working hours are 6:30 – 8:30 am and 2:30 – 6:00 pm. Summer full time positions will also be available beginning mid June.

BASIC JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

Plan and lead recreation activities for youth such as sports, games, arts and crafts, drama, and special events.
Drive 15 passenger van, picking up and dropping off children at the local schools.
Provide structure and discipline to free play times.
Discipline the children as needed by using timeouts, behavior reports, talking to the parents and disciplinary hearings.
Ensure cleaning responsibilities are completed at the end of every shift.
Check children in and out of program.
Buy needed supplies prior to leading group project.
Serve snacks on a rotating basis.
Attend all recreation staff meetings.
Make sure the program is structured and organized and supervised at all times.
Exhibit professional standards of conduct at all times

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in recreation, physical education, elementary education or related field.
2. Willing to work split shifts and odd hours.
3. Maintain a valid first aid and CPR card.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. STARS training
2. Current TB testing
3. Degree or experience in Education or related field.
4. Able to drive center van as needed (age 25+)
